The Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV) provides overseas workers with a fast and legal pathway to shortterm, high-demand seasonal jobs in New Zealand. Designed to support industries facing urgent labour
shortages during peak months, this visa enables experienced workers to contribute during the
country’s busiest agricultural and production seasons.
Whether you have prior seasonal experience or want to explore New Zealand’s thriving primary
industries, the PSV offers a simple, flexible, and time-bound work opportunity.
The PSV is issued to support New Zealand employers who urgently need additional workers during peak
operational periods. It is ideal for workers seeking short-term employment while helping fill critical labour
gaps across key seasonal industries.
• Stay Duration: Work in New Zealand for up to 7 months in total.
• Reapplication Rule: After completing 7 months on a PSV, you must spend at least 4 months outside New
Zealand before applying for another PSV.
• Hiring Process: Employers must advertise the role locally first (labor market test required).
• Health Insurance: Mandatory for jobs lasting longer than 3 months.
• Language Requirements: No English language test required.
To qualify for the PSV, applicants must:
• Hold a valid job offer for a PSV-approved seasonal role
